How the checklist works
Choose your moving day and the list splits into eleven blocks: one for each of the eight weeks before the move, moving day itself, and the first two weeks in the new home. Every block shows its dates. The week you are in is highlighted, and weeks already behind you say how many tasks are left to catch up, so a move only three weeks away still starts from the right place.
The options shape the list:
- How you are moving. Hiring movers adds quotes, booking, the inventory check and damage claims. Doing it yourself swaps those for vehicle hire, helpers and returning the van on time.
- The home you are leaving. Renting adds notice, the move-out inspection, photos and the deposit. Owning adds agreeing a handover date with your buyer.
- Children, pets, a car, moving abroad. Each adds its own tasks, such as school records, a pet bag, updating your vehicle papers, or visas and customs.
Tick tasks as you finish them; the little doorway beside each week fills with light as you go. Remove anything that does not apply to you (it can be restored), and add your own tasks to any week. The list is saved in this browser only.
Example: for a move on 15 March 2027, the first block runs from 18 to 24 January and the last ends on 29 March. The calendar file then holds one all-day reminder at the start of each week still ahead, listing that week's unticked tasks, plus moving day itself.
Notice periods, address registration and similar legal steps differ from country to country. Tasks that depend on them say so: check your local rules.
