About Calm Doorway

Calm Doorway is a small set of free tools for moving home: a week-by-week moving checklist, a moving box calculator, a truck size estimator, a change-of-address list and a room label printer. They are meant for anyone planning a move, wherever they live, whether they hire movers or carry every box themselves.

How it works

Every tool runs in your browser. Your checklists, notes and settings are saved in your browser's local storage on your device, not on a server, and there are no accounts. Calendar files, text and CSV downloads and printed labels are all made on the page itself.

Where the numbers come from

The truck and van capacities are the figures rental companies publish, and the paper sizes come from the standards; each tool names its sources. The box counts per room, the typical furniture volumes and the allowances for gaps are Calm Doorway's own rules of thumb. They are shown as ranges and labelled as estimates, because no calculator knows how full your cupboards are.

The checklists are written to be useful in any country. Where a step depends on local law, such as notice periods, address registration or vehicle paperwork, the task says so and asks you to check your local rules rather than guessing.

What it is not

Calm Doorway is not a moving company, a broker or a comparison site, and it does not pass your details to anyone. It does not give legal, tax or financial advice.
